About

I started following Jesus at seventeen, attended Bible college at eighteen, and for the next thirty years planted and pastored churches on the California coast. Since 2010 I’ve served in San Francisco as a vagabond preacher, mentor of young spiritual leaders, lover of the poor, and author.

In 2016 I published a memoir called The Other End of the DarkA Memoir About Divorce, Cancer, and Things God Does Anyway, wherein I tell the story of the loss of marriage, health, and ministry in one two-month period. The profits from the book are donated to an aftercare home for human trafficking survivors in the San Francisco Bay Area called Freedom House.
