“You can go to live in France, but you cannot become a Frenchman. You can go to live in Germany or Turkey or Japan, but you cannot become a German, a Turk, or a Japanese. But anyone, from any corner of the Earth, can come to live in America and become an American. …

“This, I believe, is one of the most important sources of America’s greatness. We lead the world because, unique among nations, we draw our people — our strength — from every country and every corner of the world. And by doing so we continuously renew and enrich our nation. While other countries cling to the stale past, here in America we breathe life into dreams. We create the future, and the world follows us into tomorrow. Thanks to each wave of new arrivals to this land of opportunity, we’re a nation forever young, forever bursting with energy and new ideas, and always on the cutting edge, always leading the world to the next frontier. This quality is vital to our future as a nation. If we ever closed the door to new Americans, our leadership in the world would soon be lost.”

  1. The immigration issue is very complicated and I never understood why the last administration did what it did (opening the border to millions of immigrants) knowing that it has been a longstanding political issue and a problem. I ran across this interview yesterday of Peter returning to the border in Yuma Arizona to follow up and see the changes since the new administration. Peter talks to the real people who have been dealing with the border here in Yuma and I was surprised on what I learned. I think you may find this interesting also.

Thank you for your writings, I dont always agree with them, but hey, we learn so much from each other.;)

PS I do find my self concerned with the “hate” for Donald that leaks through your words, but you are not the only Christ follower that I see this “Hate speech”. It disturbs my spirit to the core…but, I have never felt hate, so it is hard for me to grasp.

    1. You’re absolutely right. It was Reagan!

Sorry if you feel my ideas mount to ‘hate speech.” I sincerely don’t President Trump or anyone else for that matter. I do, however, hate his ideas, goals, purposes, words, etc… I think there’s a difference. But you’re entitled to think otherwise.

      Blessings.
