A Spiritual Crisis

“If Christians construct reality in pretty much the same terms as everybody else; if, in fact, they relate to immigrants, single mothers, the poor, the handicapped and anyone else who is “different” with neither more nor less compassion than others; and if they really do experience social, emotional and economic well-being in the same terms as everyone else in our culture—then we are faced as a church and as individual Christians with a spiritual crisis of mammoth proportions.” Brian J. Walsh

“Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you.” Romans 12:1-2 (The Message Version)
