Not content to do it alone, he invites us to collaborate in his grace errand to reach others with the offer of friendship. “Let’s go together,” he says, “and invite people to come home!” We partner with the Creator to scatter invitations throughout the world to entice them back to him––and to us.
He includes us in the mission, not because he needs our help, but in order to give us the privilege of partnering with him, which is why we call it a “co-mission,” a mission we do in tandem with him.
Because the Spirit’s relentless efforts go a long way to bring people home, in some cases what we call “evangelism” is little more than a simple confirmation of what he has already put in their heart, whether they know it or not. Some people, as in the case of Rahab, are already mulling over an RSVP to his invitation. All they need is someone to take them by the hand and bring them home.
